The sand bath component of the shoe heat insulation testing machine is primarily used to test the heat insulation or thermal insulation performance of footwear in a high-temperature sand and gravel thermal medium.
Shoe heat insulation testing machine - sand bath: This machine is primarily used to test the high-temperature resistance of sole materials such as rubber and polymers used in welding protective shoes and high-temperature shoes. After testing, the surface of the outsole sample should not show any softening, melting, or cracking. The test method involves heating the sand bath to 150℃, covering the contact area between the shoe upper and sole with sand, and recording the change in insole temperature over 30 minutes, with an accuracy of 0.5℃.
GB/T 20991: Determines thermal insulation of safety shoe soles under simulated hot surface exposure.
EN ISO 20344: European standard for personal protective equipment (PPE) footwear thermal resistance testing.
Sand Bath System:
Heated Plate: 300mm × 300mm aluminum plate with 50mm silica sand layer.
Uniform Heating: Embedded cartridge heaters with thermal diffusers.
Temperature Control:
PID controller with auto-tuning for rapid setpoint convergence.
Over-temperature alarm with 5°C differential protection.
Sensing Suite:
2 × K-type thermocouples for sand bath and shoe interior.
1.5m cable length for flexible probe placement.
Safety Systems:
Category II electrical safety certification (EN 60529).
Residual current device (RCD) for operator protection.
Software Bundle:
ThermShoe Pro™: Auto-calculates thermal gradient (°C/min) and insulation index.
Cloud PPE: Remote monitoring for global R&D teams.

Calibration Procedure:
Calibration Item: Temperature
Calibration Instrument: Surface Thermometer
Calibration Period: One year
Calibration Method:
1. Turn on the power switch and set any test temperature on the temperature controller (e.g., 40℃, 60℃, 80℃).
2. Place the surface thermometer's sensing probe on the machine's heating plate and turn on the surface thermometer's power switch to allow the machine to heat up.
3. When the test machine (i.e., the displayed value of the temperature controller) reaches the set test temperature, observe the difference between the displayed value of the surface thermometer and the displayed value of the temperature controller.
