Automatic Scratch Tester

Product Introduction

It is suitable for printing, labeling, mobile phone shell, MP3/MP4 shell, laptop computer shell and other kinds of household appliances and digital products hardware shell coating hardness and friction test and all kinds of metal coating, decorative materials, synthetic leather and other detection of friction performance in the field of paint.

Principle

The test specimen is secured to a moving slide via clamping rails. A freely movable crossbeam is attached to two uprights and supports the test tool and load.

The pressure range is 0.5-20N, set using the load scale on the crossbeam (loads of 1-40N are available as an optional accessory). For scratch testing, the test tool is placed on the specimen, which then moves forward to initiate the scratch test.

As the slide and specimen return, a guide plate lifts the test tool, allowing the specimen to move laterally, allowing a series of scratches to be performed at varying pressures.

A ruler is mounted on the slide, making it easy to evenly set the distance between scratches.

When testing insulating coatings on conductive substrates, current sensing can be used to detect when the coating is broken, ensuring a safe scratch pressure setting.

For abrasion resistance, colorfastness, MEK, or washability tests, the test tool is pressed against the specimen.

The specimen then moves back and forth for a pre-set number of times. The guide plate must be removed from the slide during the test. There are three fixed speeds and one freely adjustable speed to choose from.

Operating Procedures

1. Installing the Specimen: First, wipe the specimen surface clean. Then, place it on the tester's mounting plate and tighten it with the nut, with the test surface facing up.

2. Selecting the Weight Position: The weight position varies depending on the test force required. Read the force value from the right. Use the scale lifter to adjust the level bubble on the scale to the center position and tighten the nut to position it.

3. Testing: Turn on the power switch and press the "Test" button on the panel. The turntable will automatically stop after one full rotation, completing one test. If you want to perform a second test, use the scale radius adjustment to change the test radius before performing the second test.

4. Shutdown: When the test is complete, press the power button to shut down the machine.

Maintenance

1) Do not turn off the power during the test.

2) Do not turn the power on and off continuously during the test. Generally, wait 1-2 minutes between powering off and then powering on the machine.

3) After the test, put the protective cover on the scratching needle after shutting down the machine.

4) When adjusting the test radius, lift the ruler to avoid damaging the scratching needle.
