Over the past 30 years, our company has built filter testing systems for filters and filter media, or upgraded existing test benches with components such as aerosol generators (droplets, salts, and solids), aerosol spectrometers, dilution systems, discharge systems, and automation software.

In the field of indoor air filtration, we have upgraded and automated more than 14 existing test benches to fully satisfy our international customers.

Thanks to the use of the high-resolution light scattering spectrometer Promo® 3000. the efficiency, speed, reliability, and accuracy of fractionation separation can be determined more easily. Utilizing patented fiber optic technology, there is virtually no particle loss in the sampling line because the sensor can be directly positioned at the measurement point.

With the Fidas® system, our company offers the only optical aerosol spectrometer certified for PM2.5 and PM10 measurements according to EN 12341:1998 and EN 14907:2005. Our Promo® aerosol spectrometer is almost identical in design to the certified Fidas® system, providing reliable PM values ​​for filter testing. Our FTControl is a simple, reliable, and fast filter testing software that has been internationally proven. It allows test procedures to be executed fully automatically according to EN 779. ASHRAE 52.2. and ISO 16890. including the generation of compliant test reports.

Individual component upgrades for the GVT 3000 test bench:

1. Various aerosol generation: Depending on the test standard, aerosol generators are available to disperse different dusts (e.g., A1–A4. ASHRAE, Aramco, etc.), salts (e.g., KCl/NaCl), oils (e.g., DEHS), and suspensions. All generators are characterized to comply with the new VDI 3491 and provide the highest metrological consistency in particle size distribution and particle concentration. Reduced measurement time, for example, by increasing dust concentration.

2. Emissions: (ISO 16890): ISO 16890 requires the use of KCI as the test aerosol for aerosol emissions. A key advantage: Emissions are easy to open and close and virtually maintenance-free.

3. Light Scattering Spectrometer: The Promo® Aerosol Spectrometer system is based on the same technology as the Fidas® system, which is certified for PM values. The aerosol spectrometer features high-resolution measurements of particle size and concentration within a single measurement range of up to 60 size categories, for example, 0.2–10 µm (with four measurement ranges between 0.2–100 µm), and reliably provides values ​​for PM1. PM2.5. and PM10.

4. Sampling: Representative sampling is connected to existing test channels, including isokinetic probes for both feed gas and purified gas measurement points.

5. Automation: Test bench automation for acquiring sensor data such as differential pressure and volumetric flow rate, as well as controlling related test bench components, aerosol generator, light scattering spectrometer, discharger, and fan, is achieved through globally validated FTControl software combined with standalone plug-and-play test bench control electronics (including I/O modules). Our company provides measurement sensors for selecting setpoints for humidity, temperature, air pressure, differential pressure, and volumetric flow rate on the filter under test. The components already present on the test bench can be integrated into the automated process.

Individual components (aerosol generator, dilution system, and aerosol spectrometer) work together to provide rapid, reproducible, and cost-effective measurement results. During acceptance testing before delivery and final system inspection, our company will conduct the necessary tests to provide clear proof of the functionality of each individual component.
