Linear Headrest Impact Tester

1. Function and Application

The Linear Headrest Impact Tester is designed to evaluate the linear impact performance of automotive seating headrests in compliance with FMVSS 222. The tester measures how headrests respond to linear forces and ensures occupant safety during rear-end collisions.

The system features a P.C.-based control and data acquisition system and operates using standard shop air. The impact ram is powered pneumatically and pre-charged via a small accumulator.
