The Metal Ring-and-Block Friction and Wear Tester is a laboratory testing machine designed to evaluate the friction and wear performance of metallic materials. It simulates sliding contact between a ring and a block under controlled loads, speeds, and conditions, measuring parameters such as friction force, coefficient of friction, wear volume, and torque. The machine is widely used in materials research, quality control, and tribology studies to assess material durability and surface behavior.
This friction and wear tester is designed and manufactured in accordance with the national standard GB/T 12444-2006 “Test Method for Sliding Wear of Metal Materials – Ring-and-Block Test Method” and fully complies with this standard.
The Ring-and-Block Friction and Wear Tester mainly consists of the following components:
Machine base and frame
Drive spindle with AC servo drive system

Computer with data acquisition board and dedicated control software
The spindle drive is powered by an AC servo motor and control system, which provides constant output across the full speed range and operates smoothly at very low speeds. This enables stepless speed adjustment of the spindle (ring) over a wide range to meet diverse research requirements.
Parameters such as spindle (ring) speed, number of revolutions (test cycles), friction torque (friction coefficient and force), and friction time are controlled by the computer, with real-time data acquisition and plotting of corresponding test curves (e.g., friction force vs. time). All data can be stored, reviewed, and printed without human error interference. The tester automatically stops if any parameter exceeds preset values.
