Taber Abrasion Tester (Double-Head)

Taber Abrasion Tester (Double-Head) is used for abrasion and wear resistance testing. It measures the abrasion resistance and other wear properties of a sample by applying friction to it with a specified abrasive material at a certain load and speed. These properties include mass loss, thickness loss, and changes in light transmittance. The abrasive wheel is pre-ground using standard methods, ensuring high consistency in test results. The instrument's excellent repeatability of experimental data helps manufacturers effectively control production and inspect products.

Test Procedures

1. Prepare the test sample

Mount the prepared sample onto the test platform and secure it.

2. Load the sample

Mount the friction wheel onto the fixture and apply the balance weights to both sides.

3. Adjust the vacuum pump suction height:

Remove any debris from the sample.

4. Start the test

Turn on the instrument and set the bearing rotation count on the timer.

5. Stop the test

Once the set value is reached, the instrument will automatically stop. Remove the friction wheel and weights.

6. Sampling

After the test, turn off the instrument, remove the sample, and perform analysis and comparison.

7. Analysis

To evaluate the material's abrasion resistance.
