A PLC LCD Touch Impact Testing Machine (Simple Suspension) is a type of pendulum impact tester designed to measure the impact resistance of materials using a simple (pendulum) suspension system, with modern control via a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and an LCD touchscreen interface.

Test Procedures

1. Pre-Operation Inspection

Ensure the power supply is properly connected and the machine is grounded.

Check that the pendulum, supports, and safety guards are in good condition.

Verify that the pendulum swings freely without obstruction.

Confirm that the selected hammer (impact energy) matches the test requirements.

2. Specimen Preparation and Installation

Prepare specimens according to relevant standards (e.g., correct dimensions and notch type).

Place the specimen on the support anvils (for Charpy) or clamp it vertically (for Izod).

Ensure the notch direction is correctly positioned facing the impact side.

3. System Setup (PLC Touch Screen)

Power on the machine and access the PLC LCD interface.

Set test parameters, including:

Test type (Charpy / Izod)

Pendulum energy level

Number of tests

Units (Joules, etc.)

Reset the system to zero before testing.

4. Pendulum Preparation

Lift the pendulum to the starting position (initial angle).

Lock it securely using the release mechanism.

Ensure no personnel are within the safety zone.

5. Start the Test

Close the safety shield.

Press the “Start” or “Release” button on the touchscreen or control panel.

The pendulum will strike the specimen and break it.

6. Data Measurement and Recording

The system automatically calculates the absorbed impact energy.

Test results (impact energy, average values, etc.) are displayed on the LCD screen.

Data can be stored or exported via the PLC system.

7. Post-Test Operation

Wait until the pendulum comes to a complete stop.

Remove the broken specimen carefully.

Reset the pendulum for the next test.

8. Shutdown Procedure

Turn off the machine via the control panel.

Cut off the main power supply if not in use for a long time.

Clean the test area and remove debris.

Safety Precautions

Always operate with the protective cover closed.

Never stand in the pendulum swing path.

Regularly check and calibrate the machine for accuracy.
