The yellowing resistance test chamber, a key testing device in the field of materials science, accurately evaluates the color stability of materials during long-term use by simulating sunlight ultraviolet radiation and high-temperature environments. This equipment is widely used in industries such as plastics, rubber, textiles, coatings, and electronic products, providing a scientific basis for product quality control and material development.
Test method for determining the yellowing resistance of light and white products, such as upper and bottom materials for shoes, to approximate sunlight and ultraviolet light. According to the light-colored or white products, the phenomenon of yellow color is easy to occur in the natural sunlight for a long time, with the solar lamp and heating temperature control device to simulate the natural environment, within the specified time, observe the change of the surface color of the sample, determine the degree of discoloration of the sample, so as to determine the ability of the material to resist yellow under sunlight radiation.

This machine is designed to promote the metamorphism of vulcanized materials and then calculate the rate of change, stretching, and elongation. It also simulates the effects of ultraviolet radiation and heat from the sun. Samples are placed on the machine's table and subjected to UV radiation and temperature. Over time, the degree of yellowing and discoloration of the samples is observed, and the grayscale values can be used as a reference to determine the extent of yellowing. This is relevant to products that are exposed to radiation or sunlight during transportation.
The machine addresses the impact of color changes in the container environment on product quality. Using a 300W UV lamp, the experiment can be completed in a shorter time. This machine can be used as a basic yellowing resistance testing machine, an aging testing machine, and an oven, demonstrating its multi-functional capabilities. The machine is equipped with a forced hot air circulation control system to ensure uniform temperature distribution.

1. Powering On and Preheating
Connect the test chamber to the power supply, turn on the main power switch, and wait for the system self-check to complete. After the self-check is successful, set the ultraviolet intensity, temperature, humidity, and other parameters according to the preset values, and start the equipment preheating program. The preheating time is generally 15-30 minutes. Samples can only be placed in the chamber after the temperature and humidity inside the chamber have reached a stable state.
2. Sample Placement and Test Start
Open the test chamber door, carefully place the prepared samples on the sample rack, ensuring that the samples do not obstruct the ultraviolet lamps and will not shake or move during equipment operation. Close the chamber door, confirm that the seal is good, and then click the "Start" button. The equipment will then officially enter the testing phase.
3. Process Monitoring and Recording
During the test, you can view real-time changes in temperature, humidity, ultraviolet intensity, and other data through the equipment control panel or accompanying software. It is recommended to record data every 1-2 hours. If abnormal parameter fluctuations are detected (such as a temperature deviation exceeding ±2℃ or a humidity deviation exceeding ±5%), the test must be immediately paused, the cause investigated and corrected before continuing. Regularly observe changes in the sample's appearance, such as yellowing or surface cracking, take photos for documentation, and record the details.
4. Test Completion and Sample Handling
When the preset test duration is reached, the equipment will automatically stop running. After the temperature inside the chamber drops to room temperature, open the chamber door and remove the samples. Place the samples in a standard laboratory environment (temperature 23±2℃, humidity 50±5%) for 2-4 hours to recover, then use a colorimeter, visual comparison, etc., to evaluate the yellowing resistance level and complete the test report.
Yellowing resistance test chambers require regular maintenance to ensure accurate UV and thermal aging results. Key tasks include replacing UV bulbs every 1.000 hours, cleaning the chamber interior and air condenser coils, checking for UV leakage, and calibrating the digital controller annually.
