The Upper Leather Flexing Tester evaluates the flexing endurance and resistance to cracking of shoe upper materials (vamp leather) by applying repeated zigzag flexing. It simulates the bending and stretching stresses experienced during walking and provides an objective assessment of material durability, wrinkle formation, and crack development.

Test Procedures

(1) Prepare upper material samples of the specified size (64 × 64 mm).

(2) Mount the samples securely in the clamping jaws.

(3) Adjust the clamping angle to 40° ± 1°.

(4) Set expansion speed (300 ± 30 r/min) and stroke (19 ± 1.5 mm).

(5) Start the test machine and allow the samples to undergo repeated zigzag flexing.

(6) Observe and record the occurrence of wrinkles or cracks at intervals according to the standard.

(7) Continue the test until the specified number of cycles is reached or until a defined damage level is observed.

Maintenance

(1) Keep the machine clean and free from dust and moisture.

(2) Lubricate moving parts, pivots, and bearings monthly or after 1000 hours of operation.

(3) Inspect clamping jaws and fixtures for wear or deformation and replace if necessary.

(4) Verify expansion speed and stroke calibration periodically.

(5) Ensure the power supply and control system are functioning correctly.

(6) Store the machine in a dry, stable environment to prevent corrosion and damage.
