Burning dummy test system

Combustion dummies/Combustion test dummies are used to measure and evaluate thermal and wet comfort in dynamic thermal environments in textiles, clothing, protective clothing, automobiles and aircraft.

Application

The system utilizes a laboratory that simulates high-risk fire environments and highly realistic flashover conditions.  Using a combustion dummy testing system and software, it can evaluate the flame retardant and thermal protection performance of various protective equipment, such as fire suits and firefighting uniforms, and study the factors affecting their performance.

Features:

Life science instruments include dry warm dummy, sweat warm dummy, water warm dummy, breathing warm dummy, dynamic walking warm dummy and burning dummy, thermal resistance and wet resistance test device (SGHP) with sweating function, head model, hand model, foot model and burning protection performance test device (TPP)， etc. All instruments meet test standards for heat insulation, moisture permeability and burn protection.

The unique supporting housing is equipped with 122 heat flow sensors, which are located on the outer surface of the mannequin to avoid damage caused by dressing and handling. We also provide combustion box system components, integral fire protection structure, computer-controlled gas transmission and fire nozzle, as well as exhaust, fire suppression, safety and mobility systems (the mannequin moves from side to side in the combustion box, rotating 360 degrees).

Test Procedures

Preparing the mannequin: Dress the mannequin in the complete protective suit to be tested and adjust its posture.

Calibrating the combustion system: Ensure the heat flux meets the standard requirements.

Ignition and exposure: Remotely ignite all nozzles simultaneously, engulfing the mannequin in flames for a preset duration.

Extinguishing and cooling: After the designated time, the gas supply is automatically shut off, and a water spray system may be activated to cool the mannequin.

Data download and analysis: Download the sensor data, and the software analyzes it to generate a burn assessment report.
