The customer is a manufacturer specializing in the R&D and production of medical suturing materials, including absorbable and non-absorbable sutures. Their products are exported to Europe, the United States, and various Asian markets. Due to strict requirements from international standards such as USP, EP, and ISO, the customer has extremely high demands for suture diameter consistency and batch stability.
Before using our equipment, the customer mainly relied on manual micrometers or optical projection methods for diameter measurement, which led to several issues:
Insufficient Measurement Accuracy
Manual operation was highly dependent on operator experience, resulting in poor repeatability and noticeable errors, especially for micro-diameter sutures (0.02–0.3 mm range).
Low Testing Efficiency
Each sample required multiple manual measurements at different points and averaging, making the process time-consuming and unsuitable for high-volume testing.
