The Dry Cleaning & Washing Cylinder is a precision instrument designed with a stainless-steel rotary chamber, multi-speed drive system, and digital timer. It is used to evaluate textile color fastness to dry-cleaning solvents and chlorinated pool water and is also widely applied for preparing specimens for flammability testing. Application

The instrument is used to determine the color fastness of fabrics when exposed to dry-cleaning agents or chlorinated water. It is suitable for apparel textiles, swimwear, performance fabrics, decorative fabrics, and any material requiring resistance evaluation to dry cleaning or pool-water conditions. It also serves as a pre-conditioning device for samples prior to flammability tests.

Test Procedures

(1) Ensure the chamber is clean and free of residue before starting.
(2) Prepare hardness concentrate according to the required standard.
(3) Dilute 51 ml of the hardness concentrate to 5100 ml using distilled or deionized water.
(4) Adjust the solution pH to 7.0 using sodium carbonate or acetic acid if necessary.
(5) Add 5000 ml of the prepared solution into the chamber and set the temperature to 21°C.
(6) Place the test specimen and standard fiber into the cylinder, close the lid, and run the machine for 60 minutes.
(7) Remove the specimen and gently eliminate excess solution.
(8) After testing, clean the chamber and inspect the drive components regularly to maintain long-term performance.
