Meet the standard:
ASTM D93
ISO 2719
IP 34
ASTM D7236
Product Introduction:
The flash point is a critical parameter for classifying flammable and combustible liquids, essential for safety regulations related to transportation, storage, and handling. The closed-cup method, such as the Pensky-Martens method, is widely used for fuels (like diesel, kerosene), lubricating oils, solvents, and other liquids with varying viscosities.
In a fully automatic closed-cup flash point tester, a sample of the liquid is placed into a test cup, which is sealed with a lid except for a shutter that can be opened to introduce the ignition source. The instrument's heating system raises the sample temperature at a precise, controlled rate as specified by the relevant standard. A stirring mechanism may operate throughout the test to ensure uniform temperature distribution. At predetermined temperature intervals, the automatic system opens the shutter, introduces a small flame or electric igniter into the cup, and then closes the shutter. A sensor (thermal, ionization, or optical) monitors the vapor space for a flash (a brief ignition). The temperature at which a flash is detected is recorded as the flash point. The test is complete when a flash is detected or the maximum test temperature is reached. Fully automatic testers perform all these steps autonomously and can often cool down quickly between tests for high throughput.
The instrument is used in laboratories for:
Safety classification of flammable and combustible liquids.
Quality control of petroleum products, solvents, and chemicals to ensure they meet flash point specifications.
Receiving and shipping inspection of bulk liquids.
Research and development of new liquid formulations.
Compliance testing with national and international safety standards.
Product Advantages:
Fully automatic operation reduces operator labor, minimizes human error, and improves test repeatability.
Complies with key international standards for closed-cup flash point testing (ASTM D93. ISO 2719).
Provides accurate and reliable determination of flash point, a critical safety parameter.
Enhanced safety features protect the operator when testing flammable materials.
Increased sample throughput compared to manual or semi-automatic testers.
Digital display and data management capabilities for easy recording and reporting of results.
