Temperature calibration:
Check the accuracy of the temperature measurement system. One-point confirmation of the filament temperature is achieved by placing a piece of silver foil with a purity of at least 99.8%, an area of 2 mm2 and a thickness of approximately 0.06 mm on the upper surface of the top of the gfilament. The filament is heated at a moderately low heating rate and the thermometer should read 960°C ± 15°C when the silver foil begins to melt.
