The pulsation dampener is a pressure vessel. Due to the limitations of materials, manufacturing technology and practical application, the pulsation dampener can generally withstand a pressure of about 500kg/cm2 (it may be higher for special applications). and the temperature resistance is about hundreds degrees Celsius.
Pulsation dampener is a pressure vessel used to eliminate pressure pulsation or flow pulsation of liquid in the pipeline, which can stabilize liquid pressure and flow, eliminate pipeline vibration, and protect downstream instruments and equipment. Increase the volumetric efficiency of the pump, etc.
There are two main principles.
1. Airbag Type: The pressure or flow pulsation of the liquid is absorbed by the contraction and expansion of the pressurized inert gas in the airbag. This type of pulsation dampener is suitable for applicationsngen with a pulsation frequency of less than 7 Hz, because if the frequency is too high, the membrane or airbag will not respond in time and the effect of eliminating pulsation will not be achieved;
2. No moving parts: use a solid medium to directly intercept the liquid and buffer pressure pulsation or flow pulsation. This type of pulsation dampener is suitable for applications with high-frequency pulsations.
Purpose
Eliminate pipeline vibration, reduce pressure pulsation, reduce flow fluctuation, protect downstream instruments and equipment. The volumetric efficiency of the pump increases performance.
Selection principle
In order to select a suitable pulsation dampener, the pulsation elimination index to be achieved should first be determined according to the actual situation on site and the process requirements and guideThen perform a quantitative selection according to this technical index.
The precise selection of the pulsation dampener should be based on the flow, pressure, pump type, pump speed, number of pump cylinders, pump phase difference (multi-stage pump), pulsation elimination rate, application purpose and parameters such as the composition of the pipeline liquid which Density of pipeline liquid, viscosity of pipeline liquid and temperature of pipeline liquid are determined after extensive calculation and analysis.
Using the above parameters, the key is to calculate the fluid pulse volume (i.e. the volume of fluid delivered by a pulse) and the pulse frequency. Combined with the pulsation elimination rate index, the type and volume of pulsation dampener required can be pre-calculated.
