The traditional method for moisture determination is generally the oven drying method. Testing a sample takes two or three or even three or four hours. This involves taking the sample out of the oven every half hour and weighing it on a precision balance until the weight of the sample reaches twice the same. If there is another change, it means that the moisture has dried completely, and then the moisture value (moisture content) of the sample can be found by weighing it with a balance and calculating it manually.
The advantage of using the oven method to measure the moisture content of samples is that it is more accurate; the disadvantage is that it is inefficient and cannot meet the demands of fast-moving corporate production.
