Electronic extensometer is a common accessory for electronic tensile testing machines. Not every electronic universal testing machine is equipped with an electronic extensometer. When the customer's demand is relatively small, just take a break for the tensile test force, this electronic extensometer is not used. However, when the customer needs to perform a detailed strain analysis of the test material, this electronic extensometer is essential.
Why is this essential for strain measurement? what is met the electronic extensometer?Because when we do the material tensile test, the test material is made into a dumbbell-shaped specimen with thick ends and a thin center, because the cross-sectional areas of each part of the specimen are not exactly the same, the whole test The elongation of each part of the specimen is not consistent, and the elongation of the middle part of the sample is larger than that of the both ends, therefore, in order to test the accuracy of the results, it is necessary to configure this electronic extensometer. The electronic extensometer is equipped with a high-precision displacement sensor. Select the middle part of the test sample, clamp the upper and lower sample clamps to the top and bottom of the sample near the middle part, and then start the instrument.
EHowever, there are thousands of materials tested by the electronic tensile testing machine, and the performance of each material is different. Some materials have a large amount of deformation, and some materials have a large amount of deformation. It is also very small, so in order to meet the testing requirements of different materials, it is necessary to configure the corresponding electronic extensometer according to the test materials.
Metal Material For example, the strain of metal materials is relatively small, so it is necessary to configure a small deformation extensometer as shown in the figure below, which can accurately measure the deformation of metal materials.
Taking plastic materials as an example, the elongation of plastic materials is larger than that, and some even reach 1000% elongation, so it is necessary to configure a large deformation extensometer as shown in the figure below, generally for rubber elongation.
