Sample preparation
The sample is the same as the tensile test.
Determination
The same sample is used for the determination of the elongation and the tensile strength. It is mainly performed in the measurement of the tensile strength on the equipment. The procedure is as follows:
1. The load reading pointer of the reading plate of the set device is set to the specified voltage value.
2. Start the machine, apply voltage, and when the load indicator pointer matches the load reading pointer, read L1 or ΔL1 immediately ab without stopping the machine.
3. If the equipment continues to increase, read L2 or ΔL2 immediately when the first crack appears on the grain surface of the sample.
4. Continue to apply pressure until the sample breaks and read L3 or ΔL3 immediately.
5. Calculate the specified stress strain E1, grain layer strain E2 and fracture strain E3 and express the results as the arithmetic mean of the four vertical and horizontal measurement results.
6. For permanent elongation, take another sample, take it off when the tensile force reaches the required value of the specified load, put it in standard air for 30 minutes, and then measure L4 or ΔL4 to calculate them E4. The reported results form the arithmetic mean of the four measurement results vertically and horizontally.
Note: If medium sample L0= 50mm is used. The cross-sectional width of the sample is 10, if the thickness is t then die cross-sectional area S=10t. E1 is determined in general, and the remaining items can be determined as needed.
